A Warm Welcome - one and all..........................

The committee would like to extend a very warm welcome one and all - to the 1st National Meeting of Newfoundland Friends and hope that you and your Newfoundland dogs will join us at

Rother Valley Country Park,
Wales Bar,
Mansfield Road,
S26 5PQ.

Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and (Bank Holiday) Monday 27th August 2018

for an exciting and enjoyable weekend.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our travels around the UK and Europe seeing different techniques and exercises both on land and in the water.  However, until now there has not been a meeting of this kind held in the UK and after many years of attending "International" events held in Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland, a group of us felt it was time we offered a similar event in the UK.

And so the idea was born!

The National Meeting of Newfoundland Friends is an opportunity to meet in friendship - with one common passion -

The Newfoundland Dog.

This event is Not a competition but an opportunity for you to demonstrate the different abilities that you and your dogs have trained to perform in water and on land, to learn from others and have fun.

Format for the Event.

Saturday 25th August - Event opens for Registration, then an Opening ceremony to be held in the arena.   "Land work" displays by clubs or individuals commence in the arena, which could be anything from obedience work, carting, dancing or a structured display to music of your choice - Each participating group/individual will be allotted a running order and time slot.

Saturday evening - Join us for a social gathering at the camping field, where everyone is welcome; bring along your chairs, tables, gazebos, drinks and if you want, bring something for the barbeque (Barbeques will be provided). Enjoy a great opportunity to chat, meet new friends and share your stories.

Sunday 26th August - A fun and training session will be held in the morning. The afternoon is for clubs/individuals to show what you can do in the water, from basic 'rescue' manuvers or a full display; its your choice and an opportunity to have fun! Boats will be provided.  other equipment and helpers will be available if you need them. (anything out of the ordinary - bring your own).
